MADE IN JAPAN] 40mm belt using HORWEEN's chrome excel leather.
Made of chrome excel leather coated with HORWEEN's original oil blended from more than 4 kinds of fats.
The material is characterized by its firm thickness, yet extremely soft and supple.
The slightly thicker size of 40mm goes well with jeans, and like the denim material, this item can also enjoy aging.
HORWEEN
Horween is a leather tannery founded in 1905 in Chicago, U.S.A. They have been tanning leather for over 100 years using the same traditional methods, and their leather is so beautiful and delicate that no other leather can compare to it.
All leathers are made from steerhide (leather of bulls over 2 years old, castrated within 3 to 6 months of birth, the strongest of all cowhides, used for riders, etc.), and are tanned by tanneries (craftsmen). The tanner (craftsman) checks each raw hide and selects only those that are 2.5 mm thick or thicker.
Since leather is usually processed mainly for work efficiency, we generally use materials with good permeability such as "petroleum" and use a method to soak oil into leather from a scientific point of view.
Chromexcel leather
Chromexcel leather has been tanned by hand for over 100 years, and Horween's commitment to Chromexcel leather is thorough even before processing.
The leather is then tanned with a "combination tanning" method, a method developed almost 100 years ago, and then coated with a special oil that is a blend of four or more types of fats, including beef tallow, beeswax, vegetable fat, and fish fat. This is a leather with Horween's original product name.
