EDWIN TOKYO HARAJUKU 6th anniversary modelAizome Jeans

The concept store EDWIN TOKYO HARAJUKU celebrated its 6th anniversary.

And EDWIN, which celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2021, has started its 61st year this year.

Returning to its origins, EDWIN has once again focused on jeans and Japan's ancient indigo-dye culture.

The concept store anniversary model is a hot topic every year.

This year's model is a pair of indigo-dyed jeans that are right in the heart of the Japanese denim industry.

■ Organic cotton selvedge denim

Both warp and weft are made of 100% organic cotton.

This fabric is woven slowly and carefully on an old-style shuttle loom.

The fabric has a unique look with a bulky, three-dimensional feel.

Indigo Dyeing

The fabric is dyed with natural indigo using a traditional method called kase (skein) dyeing.

The deep fading of the color is different from that of ordinary rope dyeing.

Indigo dyeing has long been rooted in the culture of the common people of Japan.

The delicate sensibility of the Japanese people has led to a wide range of indigo dyeing techniques, from the whitish "indigo white" to the blackish "tome-kon".The Japanese people enjoyed the subtly different shades of indigo, which are called "48 shades of indigo".

These limited edition jeans reproduce "nodo-iro," a typical indigo dye color of the early modern period.

■Straight fit

The fit is the regular straight fit of the EDS series, the most popular in concept stores.

The silhouette has been refined to fit the modern body shape while retaining the ruggedness that is typical of jeans.

■Leather label with limited design

The leather label with Hinomaru print is made of goat leather.

The unique texture of goatskin leather will become more apparent as it ages, creating a unique look and feel.
