Reynolds McCullough (a.k.a. Reyn), who run a menswear shop in California, was fascionated by Hawaii when he visited there as a trip.
Then he decided to move there and opened a store in Honolulu.
In 1961, the present company name, reyn spooner, was born by cooperaing with a seamstress Ruth Spooner.
The brand became a pioneer of Hawaiian shirts as Brooks Brothers of the Pacific.
In Tokyo in the same year, a shop named Tsunemi Yonehachi, which has carried second-hand imported jeans by then,
Then they started to make jeans within a country and labeled EDWIN on them.
This is the collaboration between 2 brands born in Hawaii and in Tokyo in the same year.
