CACAO JEANS

OPEN UP, CACAO

Cacao beans are the raw material for chocolate. The husk (seed coat) of the cacao bean is removed during the manufacturing process, as its addition to chocolate reduces its palatability and flavor.

Meiji Co., Ltd. has focused on “Cacao Husks”, which have not been actively utilized until today, and launched “CACAO STYLE,” a lifestyle brand that creates new values from Cacao.

DENIM OF CACAO

The yarn used in this project is an original selvedge denim made from powdered Cacao Husk and blended with Japanese paper for the weft yarn.

It is lighter and drier to wear than the ordinally denim fabric and has a shinier texture.

In addition, the selvedge is specially designed in brown and gold, inspired by the colors of Meiji Milk Chocolate.

JAPAN DENIM

The base fit is the EDS regular straight, which is developed exclusively for Edwin concept stores. These Made-in-Japan jeans are produced at Edwin's own sewing factory, where the entire process from cutting to sewing is carried out using a variety of originally developed and customized sewing machines and automatic machines, with experience staff and strict quality standards.

The jacket is also made in the same sewing factory as Jeans, and features details inspired by vintage jackets of the 1950s, with box-fit mid-length jacket.

Limited Edition Package

Both Jeans and Denim Jackets are used original leather labels with the CACAO STYLE logo, created especially for this project. The color of the leather will be darker and become a lustrous candy color as it is used, so you can enjoy the aging process of the leather label as well as its denim. The flasher (Back Pocket Label) is a limited edition with an image of Meiji Milk Chocolate.

It also comes with a chocolate-style charm with EDWIN logo.
